Super-Mayor Cory Booker prepares Newark residents for Winter Storm Nemo!/CoryBooker/status/299926110311948288

During Hurricane Sandy last fall, Newark Mayor Cory Booker fielded calls for help, gave tips on food storage, and even invited stranded, power-deprived residents into his home.

With Winter Storm Nemo bearing down on the East Coast, the proactive super-mayor is all over Twitter with breaking news updates and advice. His constituents greatly appreciate the responsiveness and transparency.

Starting a news conference now regarding the storm. Updates to follow.

And here’s a nice appeal to citizens to look out for each other instead of relying completely on government for help:

Please check in on/help others. We’re a lot like snow flakes. Individually we are beautiful yet fragile. Together we are a powerful force.

I hope I don’t get caught in a snow drift this weekend because I don’t live in Newark & can’t tweet @corybooker for help. #CoryBookerApp

During the blizzard, I bet anything people will ask @corybooker for help and he will show up with a shovel. Have hot cocoa ready…
